Installation
How Is StablWall™ Installed?
The StablWall System application process is simple, straightforward, and can be completed in less than a day, depending on the size the area to be reinforced. When installed perpendicular to a crack or bow, StablWall stops any further wall movement from occurring because carbon fibers don’t stretch. Therefore the wall can no longer move.
StablWall sheets are 2-foot wide sheets of carbon-fiber mesh, with the strands facing lengthwise. These sheets are applied to concrete, brick, stone or masonry walls with a specially formulated industrial strength epoxy.
Cracked, bowed foundation walls (left) are permanently
restored (right) by the StablWall System space-age
technology.
In general, the process is as follows:
- The technicians prep the wall areas to be reinforced. This may include removing any existing paint, or smoothing the wall surface.
- Cracks in the wall are filled with the crack filler provided.
- Primers, epoxies and carbon fiber sheets are installed in layers, in the prepared area.
- The area is left to dry for 24 to 48 hours.
Once the installation has dried, a good quality latex paint can be applied to the area, making the installation almost invisible.
